October 23rd, Race Day.

Today we assembled at the school at 5:30AM to head out for Lime Rock. We had all the tools and cars loaded prior to race day had all extra things loaded on the bus for today.

When we arrived to the track, we put both cars on the saw horses and finished the final tune-ups and checks before they went out on the track. We also had problems with our communications having other people on the same channel and other radio interferences during the race.

After the race had begun we had good cansistant laps and had minimal issues in the first heat. There were a couple of down cars on the track,  but we still kept our laps consistant

For the second heat we had more to deal with than anticipated. The first issue we had was a 2 lap penalty on car 422 for passing in a no pass zone and went from  49 laps to 47. The rest of the race finished fine and the 47 laps got us 2nd place and 426 got us first with a whopping 50 laps.

Today is the last day before the race! We spent the afternoon packing our trailer and making sure that we had everything we needed. We double and tripple checked to make sure that all of the nuts, bolts, and wire connections were tight. We made a few last minute trips to the grocery strore and hardware shop and then were ready to go!

October 21st, 2015

Today was day 2 in our count down to race day! We made sure that we had lots of practice especially for our two new drivers, Mike and Angel. We were also trying to come up with a list of things we may need for the race. Such a food and other tools that we were missing. While we were practicing we found a few last minute details that needed to be taken care of. We fixe them and continued to practice. We are looking in great shape for race day!

October 19th, 2015

Today was day 4 on our count down to race day! We spent the day packing tool bags for race day and gathering together any materials we will need. We also brought our cars into the gymnasiam to practice our pit stops. our best pit time was 12 seconds with the car 422. 426 had a record time of 15 seconds. 426's pit crew, Luis and Sam, along with the drivers, Paige and Mike, had to figure out a quicker way to get Mike out and Paige inti the car without fumbling. That is their only concern for race day. For car 422 the pit crew, Charlotte and Ausitn, along with the drivers, Angel and Sean, had to work on the buckling system and formulate a plan to make sure that no one was getting into each others way on race day. All in all we are pretty much ready for the race!

September 21-25

This week Mike, Sean and Paige worked on making a new roll cage/bar for 422, in the end they ended up putting a extra roll bar in the front. Tom worked on welding 422 and 426. Charlotte and Skyler worked on putting the throttle back together on 422. Later in the week, Page, Sean and Angel put a toggle switch in 422 where the drivers could easily access it. Tom still worked on welding 426, which he's almost done repairing, and he's almost halfway done with 422. Charlotte and Chris worked on cutting 3 roll bar templates. And Skyler, Braeden, and Monterey got the throttle back on 422.

Today we practiced pit stops with the drivers of 426 and 422. 422 is currently under construction so the drivers of 422 used 426 for practice. We established who will be on the pit crew for each set of drivers and who within pit crew will be accomplishing which tasks. For the drivers and pit crew of 426 our fastest pit stop was 16 seconds. For the drivers and pit crew of 422 our fastest time was 18 seconds. We are doing a phenomenal job and are ahead of the game at this point in the racing season.  Also we had to finalized the ballasts so the drivers are the same weight.  Also we had people cleaning the shop even though its the begining of the year
